About the Digital SAT

What is the Digital SAT?

The Digital SAT is the new version of the SAT exam introduced by the College Board in Spring 2024. This new format leverages digital testing and adaptive algorithms to better assess a student's capabilities. Compared to the traditional paper-and-pencil test, the Digital SAT is shorter and provides a more personalized testing experience.

Structure of the Digital SAT

The Digital SAT consists of two main sections: Reading and Writing (R&W) and Math. Each section is divided into two modules, with the difficulty of Module 2 determined by your performance in Module 1. The Reading and Writing section contains 27 questions per module, while the Math section contains 22 questions per module. The total score ranges from 400-1600, with each section score ranging from 200-800.

How Adaptive Testing Works

The Digital SAT uses an adaptive testing approach, meaning the test adjusts to your performance. If you perform well in Module 1 (answering more than 70% correctly), Module 2 will offer more challenging questions. These harder questions carry more weight in calculating your final score, allowing for a more accurate reflection of your ability level.

How to Use This Calculator

Enter the number of questions you answered correctly in each module: Reading and Writing Module 1 (0-27), Reading and Writing Module 2 (0-27), Math Module 1 (0-22), and Math Module 2 (0-22). The calculator will automatically apply the adaptive testing algorithm to estimate your section scores and total score, displaying detailed calculation steps.
